The starting point

Dispatchers couldn’t see where a vehicle was on its route, or which stretches were making it late. Delays only showed up after the fact.

What I built

  • An Android app for the Famoco terminal in the vehicle. The driver picks the route and taps their card, and the position is sent for the whole shift.
  • A web dashboard with a 3D map of the island that follows the trip live.
  • Time spent at each stop and between stops, the gap to the timetable, and the roads where the vehicle lost time.
  • Two real examples, a Car Jaune coach line from Saint-Denis to Saint-Pierre via the Route des Tamarins and a delivery round from Port Est, drawn on the actual roads.

The result

A working prototype tested on a real Famoco FX200 terminal. It sets up the next step, a tool that suggests better routes from trip history.
